Central High Wildcat Cheerleaders Honored for Performance in Orlando

Central High School’s varsity cheerleaders have returned home as National Champions from the National High School Cheerleading Competition in Orlando, Florida. Their championship came in the Large Varsity Division.
In the fall, the 20 members of the team competed in Louisiana regional cheerleading competition, winning 1st Place and qualifying for the national competition. They were first runner in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Spirit Competition.
At the national championships in Orlando, Central also competed in the Medium Varsity Non-Tumbling Division. They made it to the finals and ended up in 9th place in the nation in that competition.
After two days of competing at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex, Central’s National Champion Cheerleaders enjoyed the Disney theme parks and returned home. They are coached by Amy Stevens
and the sponsor is Sharon Ball.
