We Had the Most Beautiful Snow For One Blessed, Unforgetable DayOn Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, the City of Central was pelted with a beautiful layer of snow which rapidly began to accumulate. It snows only rarely in South Louisiana, and when it does, it normally turns to mush almost immediately, but this snow was different! It was real snow, the kind you see up North. The snow began early in the morning, and people were waking each other up to see it. People went outside. To their amazement and utter joy, the snow kept right on falling, and it didn’t melt when it hit the ground. By 8 a.m., there were snow men popping up all over Central and other parts of the Baton Rouge area. Since everyone has a cell phone these days, people started taking pictures and sending them to the Central City News. Although CCN had already published its December issue, we knew we had to get all the great snow pictures out to the community. Thus, this Special Snow Edition was born!
