Thornhills Celebrate 50 Years

Rex and Sheila Thornhill of Central celebrated their 50th anniversary October 22 at a surprise party given by their family.

The couple met on a blind date while Rex was serving in the Navy and they married on October 25,1967.

They have four children: Rex Thornhill Jr. of Central; Troy Thornhill and wife Stephanie of Slaughter; Theresa Thornhill Thibodeaux of Central; Daniel Thornhill and wife Deborah of Central. They have eight grandchildren: Troy Thornhill Jr. and wife Alexa of Central; Brandon Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; Matthew Thibodeaux of Los Angeles, California; Jonathan Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; Jenna Thornhill (our little angel in Heaven); Justin Thornhill of Central; Brady Thornhill of Central and Madison Thornhill of Slaughter.

    Rex Thornhill is a member of Acacia Shrine Temple, Istrouma York Rite, Masonic Lodge Central #442 F & A M, and The Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders. Rex and Sheila are both members of the Order of Eastern Star Central Star Chapter #23.      .

retired after 24 years from EBR School Food Service.
