Last Second FG Lifts Wildcats 17-15

After a hard-fought and evenly matched contest, the McKinley Panthers appeared to cinch a non-conference victory over the Central Wildcats when McKinley took a 15-14 lead with 1:40 left in the 4th Quarter.
It would have been a sweet victory for McKinley coach Ken Hilton, who served as defensive coordinator at
Central for three years.
But coach Hilton and the Panthers were denied by the heroics of senior Bryce Broussard, who is playing
his first season of high school football.
After McKinley scored with 1:40 left in the game, Central marched 66 yards, setting up Broussard to attempt a 31-yard field goal with four seconds left on the clock. Broussard said the entire Wildcat team was rooting for him.  After the ball sailed through the goalposts, the Wildcats hoisted him on their shoulders in celebration.  It was a big victory for coach Sid Edwards and the Central team which
hosts Scotlandville this Friday, Oct. 14.
