Buddy Caldwell Top Vote-Getter In Central with 60 Percent of Vote

Among statewide candidates in highly-contested races, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell was the top vote-getter in Central Oct. 24, receiving 60 percent of Central’s vote in the five-candidate field.  It was Caldwell’s best showing in the state, except for Madison Parish where he received 65 percent of the vote.  Caldwell is in a runoff with former Congressman Jeff Landry.

Caldwell is supported by the NRA, the Louisiana Sheriffs Association, the Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish, and the Central City News.

One of Caldwell’s chief aides is Dwayne Black of Central. A number of Caldwell’s other top employees also reside in Central.

Scott Angelle ran first and Jay Dardenne second in Central in the primary.
