Lizzie Wicker Aims for Her Goal(post)
Will Lizzie Wicker make history and become the first female athlete ever to score points for the Central High School varsity football team? The 17-year-old senior may just get her chance sometime this season as a placekicker.
Lizzie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Wicker, is a well-rounded athlete with strong legs. She is an ice skater who has competed in the Diamond States Open Figure Skating Championship and attended the LSU Kicking Camp. With a 4.2 academic average, he plans to study engineering at LSU.
If she does score, she’s be second female in the history of the Baton Rouge area to do so. According to Robin Fambrough of The Advocate, Courtney Roley was the starting kicker for Lee High in 2004 and hit lots of extra points and field goals. She was All-District in girls soccer.
